| United Services Portsmouth RFC play rugby in Hampshire Division One and have a strong services (mainly Naval) history; having once played the likes of Bath and London Scottish in regular seasons. Although the league and fixture list has changed over the years, the history remains. And this current crop of players, with a strong civilian contingent, have finished third in Hampshire One and won the Hampshire Gales Plate Trophy for the 2008/09 season.
Cyprus was seen as more of a holiday than a tour for the guys after a hard season but with a game against Paphos Tigers who won their league this year US did well with a somewhat depleted (and well watered!) team and finished an admirable second! The real winner was indeed the kit which went down a storm - 'I've never tackled a cow before', 'are you sure?'......................
