Stud Rugby gets a media manager
In an exciting development, Stud Rugby has hired the Sports Network to head up its new media and marketing campaign. Sports Network, which is headed up by former Planet Rugby and Rugby365 managing editor Howard Kahn, specialises in media management, solutions and marketing and its other clients includes the likes of the Cape Town Tens, the Varsity Cup and FNB Classic Clashes - to name just a few. Kirsten Nel, the MD of Stud Rugby, said: "Referrals can get you so far only... we have made a conscious decision to up our online profile, firstly by improving the official Stud Rugby website, and secondly by giving us a social networking profile, which will allow our clients across the globe to interact with each other and, hopefully, new clients." The official Stud Rugby website, www.studrugby.com, recently underwent a slight re-jig. Most importantly, a news section has been added in (which will be updated weekly), whilst there is a link to the Stud Rugby facebook page and the tributes section has been updated, too. As part of Kirsten's new strategy she is also hoping to get as much feedback as possible from her clients - be it on her official website or via the Stud Rugby facebook page. "I recently received an amazing video clip from a client of mine in Italy, which will be published on the site shortly, but it got me thinking; there really is no better way to spread the Stud Rugby gospel," said Kirsten. "Of course, good service and competitive prices will also continue to help, but with our new news section, I will be able to run regular news stories about our specials and tournament-related (the Lions tour, Cape Town Tens, World Cup) deals we will be offering."
